Amazing Cough Syrup (recipe)

Our family has been using this recipe for years and would not want to live without it. It is an amazing, fast acting solution for hacking coughs.
“My toddler was sick with a hacking cough and congestion. The doctor said it was complicated by his asthma. I had tried everything I could think of to clear it up. My brother said that I should try Dr. James’ Cough Syrup. I gave him the cough syrup and he threw up thick black phlegm. Within an hour he felt great and wasn't coughing any more. All of his asthma symptoms vanished too.”

COUGH SYRUP
Bring to a boil:
3 cups purified water (must not have chlorine)
Add herbs*
Horehound…………..1 ounce
Wild Cherry Bark……1 ounce
Aniseed………………1 ounce
Elecampane Root…….1/2 ounce
Lobelia Herb…………1/4 ounce
*You can get these herbs in a health food store or online

Lower heat
Simmer for 15 minutes and strain out herbs. This should be about one pint.
Add
1 1/2 cups apple cider Vinegar (raw is best)
1 1/3 cups honey (1lb)
This cough syrup can be used for all ages and is good for asthma, bronchitis, colds, etc. Keeps well, not necessary to refrigerate but helps with the flavor.
Dosages: One tablespoon every one to three hours for adults or as needed.
Under twelve a teaspoon at a time is best.
Infants 10-20 drops from a dropper as needed.
This syrup can cause vomiting of phlegm. This is normal, it will help clear up the congestion. If vomiting occurs repeat dose after 2 - 3 minutes. If you would not like the vomiting to occur replace the Lobelia with Slippery Elm Bark.
