BLADNEY gets its name from both bladder and kidney. When people are swollen, puffed up, experience lower back pain or painful urination, and they need fluid out of their system, I give them BLADNEY. It is not necessarily a diuretic; it is a formula that gives to the urinary tract what it needs so it can function properly.
The kidney and bladder are designed to decrease unnecessary water in the body, but if this system is not healthy they cannot do this. By the very nature of the kidneys they are greatly resilient to bacteria and germs. For instance, if you took urine and stuck it in your eye every day you would quickly get an infection. But the kidney and bladder are bathed in it all day long and develop no problems. By the time there are bacteria to culture, or to find in the urine, there is a real problem. BLADNEY puts into the system what it needs to be healthy so the normal body function returns and the kidney and bladder can do their job.
In order for the body to deal with swollen tissues properly it is necessary to continue to drink water so that the body will cease to horde the fluid in its tissues. Drinking water, coupled with BLADNEY, helps normalize the sodium and potassium levels. This formula helps keep the potassium in the system unlike chemical diuretics that chase it right out. Americans need to drink more water. We drink soda, we drink coffee, we drink tea--we drink anything but water. In fact if you offer people water they are insulted. Years and years ago if you offered people a drink of water they thought "Wow! Great! That's wonderful!" When you offer water today, they look at you like "What, can't you afford anything else?"
It should also be mentioned that as Americans, we eat (in general) food that does not have liquid in it either. The ideal place to get water is from vegetables and fruits because they carry into the system nutrients that the body needs. We do not eat enough vegetables and fruits. Not only do we need to drink more water, we also need water laden with nutrients that come from plant and vegetable material.
